General Meeting Minutes

Meeting Minutes Approval 

Golfo Wernette motioned to approve minutes, Bob Douville seconded, unanimously approved

Community Reporting

  • Karen thanked all volunteers for their support.
  • Highlights of Michigan Prevention Data System Reporting (MPDS) reported for FY 2018-19, 148 events recorded by LSOY.
  • FY 2018-19 outcome for Addiction: What you need to know and what you can do, 188 participants, 25 treatment referrals; YTD: 823 participants, 68 treatment referrals
  • Narcan training FY 2018-19 – 77 trained at Livonia Civil Ari Patrol, Clarenceville High School Parent Advisory, Jimmy John Managers, St. Edith Catholic Church, Livonia Chamber of Commerce, Livonia Community
  • Jim Vrooman reported that vaping is trending downward at Churchill High School, perhaps due to tickets written to students caught vaping in school
  • Ella Cardinal, 8th grade student at Emerson Middle School, reported that she has heard of students vaping, but has not encountered anyone vaping during the school day
  • Maria Gosur continues to work on the update of LSOY website
  • Marty Heator, Schoolcraft College – winter School Daze schedule January 24/25; Marty also reported that LSOY provides valuable resources to SC students regarding health/wellness and mental health issues; also a clinical therapist is available on campus weekly
